Great Plains Country is a membership-based association that works in close cooperation with tourism- industry partners, including attractions, events, historic sites, lakes, state parks and resorts, museums, Chambers, Convention & Visitors Bureaus and the arts & culture that make up this Great region of Oklahoma.
Members receive free attraction and events calendar listings in the Great Plains Country Travel Guide and on the Great Plains Country Website. Members also receive discount advertising prices in the guide, which is distributed through state fulfillment mailings, Great Plains Country office mailings, national travel shows and expos, Chamber of Commerce/CVB offices, hotel and airport distributions, restaurants and attractions. It is also available through our website. 80,000 copies of the Great Plains Country guide are printed and distributed annually.
Take advantage of numerous advertising opportunities, often at a discounted price! Many of our members advertise through Great Plains Country in publications like the Oklahoma State Travel Guide, Oklahoma Today, True West Magazine, Metro Family Magazine, Red River Family Magazine, Destination Oklahoma, just to name a few. Co-operative marketing is also available through radio/tv advertising, outdoor advertising, promotional items and travel shows.
As a member of Great Plains Country, you will be aware of all of the opportunities the OTRD has to offer. Great Plains Country works closely with the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department to stay updated on all marketing and promotional opportunities for members. Great Plains Country’s staff also stays up-to-date on legislative issues that can affect tourism and economic development state wide.
